The first addition was to add a new lobby space that would lead into the new lecture hall which is is currently a gym. The Gym retrofit creates a unique space where the same space can be reconfigured to create very different atmospheres and allow for different programs which include a lecture hall, a dining hall and a concert space.
The newly proposed gym would take advantage of the excellent views towards the ravine while being connected to the new wing and its new amenities. The gym would mark the start of a number of significant additions to the campus.
The library addition was a much needed bridge in terms of internal circulation for the building and also acts as the new back face of the campus. The existing building had two very nice courtyards that were very limited in terms of use and access, the new proposed library addition would be able to take advantage of the courtyard as secondary gathering and study spaces. The two new library wings would also have excellent views and natural lighting while creating a modern and strong aesthetic for the campus.
